Waking To Hooded Strangers Around The Bed

Nona’s account unfolded in the early hours of January 12^th, 1993, at around 1:15 am when she awoke suddenly in her home in Totowa, New Jersey. She recalled needing a moment for her eyes to adjust to the darkness, but as they did, she felt a surge of fear running through her. It was then that she noticed several strange figures, each wearing long robes with hoods that obscured their faces, standing around her bed, each completely silent.

As she took on this bizarre scene, she noticed how there was an electric-like crackle in the air in the room, as if there was some kind of static in the air. Then, before she could contemplate anything else, a “beam of light” suddenly appeared in the room. She later recalled that the light was unlike anything she had ever seen before. Furthermore, she could immediately tell that it was far from an ordinary light, elaborating that it was like a “shaft of liquid crystalline light” that struck her squarely in the head.

As soon as it did so, she could feel bizarre sensations running throughout her body and began to suffer violent convulsions, and her limbs began to shake intensely. During these moments of uncontrolled movement, she once more felt terror well up inside her – so much so that she feared that she might die. All the while, the hooded figures remained still and calm, simply watching the strange events unfolding in front of them. Then, they stepped forward toward the bed and reached out toward her, placing their hands upon her. As soon as they did so, the convulsions began to ease somewhat, and she could feel them guiding the energy throughout her body.

Then, things turned even stranger.

Words That Contained Magic

A moment later, one of the figures stepped closer still. She could see that it held an ankh exactly like those found in ancient Egyptian culture representing the symbol of life. Then, she heard a voice in her mind that she believed came from the figure. Although she didn’t recall the specific words, she believed that they were “magic” and had great significance as to what was happening.

The next thing she knew, the hooded figures disappeared as if into thin air, and she was left alone in the bedroom. To say she was perplexed and confused would be an understatement. And as the night gave way to dawn and then to the following day, Nona found that these strange events were far from over.

As the sun rose, she suddenly found her body shaking violently. She later described this as feeling as though an electrical current was being passed through it and unlike anything she had ever felt before. These secondary convulsions eventually stopped. She was, though, on a path that would lead her to a place in her soul that she had never before imagined.

A little over three years later, in April 1996, Nona walked into the office of Dr. John Mack, who had carried out extensive research into hundreds of alien abduction and extraterrestrial encounter cases. And with his help, she would finally discover further details of the extraordinary events that January night in 1993.

Encased In A “Container Of Energy!”

Using hypnotic regression, Mack took Nona back to the early hours of January 12^th, 1993, and it became immediately apparent from the way her body convulsed that she was back in the moment. She began to speak, stating she could feel a vibration at the top of her head. When Mack asked her to elaborate, she offered that it was as if someone had stuck something into her spine. As she spoke, her body jolted and moved, as if she was right back in her bed that January night in 1993.

Almost on the verge of breaking down, perhaps reliving the pain, she stated that she had the sensation that whatever was in her spine felt “stuck!” She then added that it felt as though every single part of her body was waking up at the same time. She continued that this strange sensation appeared to be spreading through her body, reaching her face, her shoulders, her arms, her hands, and her legs. She continued that it appeared her body was shaking with pure energy.

Suddenly, her body began to feel lighter and lighter before she had the sensation that she was “encased” in some kind of “capsule or container of energy!” She could still see the strange figures standing around her, including the one standing by her feet and holding the ankh. It was this figure who was speaking the words that contained some kind of magic to them.

At this point, Nona became quite agitated at reliving the experience and Dr. Mack had to calm her back down. Once he had done so, they continued.

Physical Evidence Left Behind

Nona’s next clear memory is of being inside the strange beam of light. She described moving upwards through the light toward a dark hole with bright lights around it above her. Although she couldn’t quite recall actually entering through the hole, she next found herself inside a blue-lit room with a dome-like ceiling. She looked around and determined she was alone. Then, her memories turned more ominous.

She recalled realizing she was lying on a cold metallic table-like surface and of feeling some kind of pressure at the side of her head as something appeared to be inserted into her ear. Interestingly, the following morning (after the encounter), Nona awoke to find blood on her pillow as well as in her ear. A subsequent visit to the doctor revealed scar tissue around her ear.

A friend of Nona’s – Roberta – had also sat in on the session, and she remarked to Mack how the energy in the room had become palpable during the session as Nona herself had become more animated in recollections, almost as if she was directly responsible for changing the energy in the room with her “powerful presence!”

The session was then brought to an end, and while Nona now knew much more of that eventful night in January 1993, her mind, both conscious and subconscious, was not through dealing with the ordeal.

Existing At A Higher Vibrational Frequency

For many months following the hypnotic regression with Dr. Mack, Nona went over and over the strange events in her mind. The more she did, the more she reasoned that the incident had profoundly changed her in many ways, not least how she viewed the world. Moreover, she felt physically changed, even claiming that she felt as though her body was operating at a higher vibrational frequency than before the encounter.

She would eventually have a follow-up session with Dr. Mack in order to process what she had learned, during which she offered that she could appreciate how her experience was multifaceted and so much more than “just” an alien abduction. As terrifying as the encounter had been at the time, she realized that it had had a “spiritually uplifting” effect on her life.

Perhaps in what was a profound view of the events, Nona stated that it was her belief that the key to appreciating such experiences was “how one chose to perceive it” and what a person themselves “brought to the experience!” This is an interesting assessment and perhaps suggests that understanding these strange encounters might tell us as much about the human mind as it would about apparent intelligent life from elsewhere in the universe.

The ”Interconnected Nature Of All Things!”

Nona continued that since the encounter, and more specifically since she had learned more details of it, she had a “newfound understanding of humanity’s disconnection from the Earth, and from each other”, as well as from the “interconnected nature of all things!”

Nona would eventually discover other people who had undergone similar encounters to her, one of whom was a lady named Carol, who Nona found a particularly strong bond with. She elaborated that when they were together, there was an “incredible energy” between them and a connection that came from their experiences that each woman realized had “fundamentally altered” them, with their consciousness “shifted” somehow to a higher frequency that itself allowed them to “resonate” with each other.

Of course, as we might imagine, there have been many who are skeptical of Nona’s claims, with some offering she likely suffered an episode of sleep paralysis. However, it should be noted that she has no medical history of ever suffering from this condition previously. And, of course, there is also the fact that there was physical evidence that something out of the ordinary had taken place that night in January 1993, with the blood on her pillow and around her ear, as well as the scar tissue discovered by doctors.

Ultimately, while Nona herself believes she has gotten to the bottom of the bizarre episode and its subsequent aftereffects, others believe the account is still very much open for debate.
