In 2009, Universal Pictures released The Fourth Kind, a thriller that follows the life of psychologist Dr. Abigail Emily “Abby” Tyler, who lives in Nome, Alaska with her husband. After he mysteriously passes away, she resolves to continue his clinical research with clients suffering from insomnia.

She begins to use hypnosis on selected patients as part of their treatment. The hypnosis reveals that several of them have had very similar experiences. They each report waking up at 333 a.m. and seeing a white owl outside their window. Shortly after that, they hear violent sounds outside their room followed by someone, or something, dragging them out of their bed against their will as they scream and howl in protest. Then they black out.
These occurrences follow similar descriptions from alien abductees around the world. Many abductees report seeing animals such as owls, monkeys or raccoons outside their windows at or around 330am right before their abduction.

Marie D. Jones, a paranormal researcher, was interviewed in a video featurette provided by the film’s producer, Universal Pictures. She calls the appearance of owls a “trigger object.” She said it is a way of calming the abductees before they are taken.
She also explained the time phenomenon. “Time prompts are number sequences that show up over and over again in a person’s life, usually in the form of time,” she explained. “333am is one of the most common time prompts. It is a ‘trigger time’ for abductions to take place.”
In the film, Tyler begins to believe that these episodes are actually close encounters of the fourth kind. Alien encounters are measured on a scale developed in 1972 by Dr. J. Allen Hynek, a noted astronomer, and famous ufologist. He researched UFOs with the US government, working with various Air Force sponsored studies including Project Sign (1947-49), Project Grudge (1949-52) and Project Bluebook (1952-69). The levels of close encounters are:
- First Kind: Sighting– visual sightings of flying saucers, unknown aerial objects, and odd lights.
- Second Kind: Evidence- observations of UFOs and the physical evidence of them including heat, damage to train, scared and skittish animals, lost time (gaps in memory), crop circles, and paralysis.
- Third Kind: Contact- there are six levels of contact described by Hynek, from observing inside a UFO to experiencing “intelligent communication” with aliens.
- Fourth Kind: Abduction- a human is taken aboard a UFO.

A New ‘Blair Witch’ Ruse?
Is The Fourth Kind real? At the beginning of the movie, Milla Jovovich says,
I am actress Milla Jovovich, and I will be portraying Dr. Abigail Tyler. This film is a dramatization of events that occurred in October 2000. Everything in this movie is supported by archive footage. Some of what you are about to see is extremely disturbing.
The movie studio said the film was based on “archival footage” of a therapist who discovered “the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented” while conducting her hypnosis and therapy sessions. It sounds legitimate, except no one in Alaska has ever heard of Dr. Abigail Tyler. She does not appear in any records of the state Psychologist’s Association or Licensing Board.
However, there actually had been a disturbing number of disappearances in and around Nome, mostly travelers coming to and from surrounding native Inupiat and Siberian Yupik areas. Distraught friends and family were frustrated by the lack of attention from the police, believing that there may be one or a group of serial killers at work.

Mysterious Disappearances
In 2006, the Anchorage Daily News reported on the disappearances, saying, “A string of disappearances and mysterious deaths of native villagers visiting Nome was not the work of a serial killer… An FBI study of 24 missing persons and suspicious death cases assembled by Nome police said excessive alcohol consumption and the harsh winter climate were common ties in many of the cases. In 9 of the cases, where no bodies were ever found, state and local investigators said they will continue to search for new leads.”
The article began after a native named Eric Apatiki, 21, disappeared. A tribal council leader, Delbert Pungowiyi, for years, had been trying to get an investigation going about various disappearances. “People disappear over there and where are the bodies going? Where are the remains going?” Pungowiyi asked the newspaper. He called Nome “a boneyard for the region because there are so many remains there that have never been found.” The FBI began their investigation in response to the growing frustrations of the native population.
The Daily News concluded that there were no abductions, and the number of missing persons and unresolved deaths is what a small town of Nome’s size would see on average. The newspaper pointed to the FBI investigation, again citing the high incidence of alcoholism and extremely rugged weather conditions.
The nonprofit group that brought the cases to the attention of the general public is not happy about the movie. They claim that it takes away from any real investigation into the disappearances. “The movie looks ridiculous,” said Kawarak, Inc. vice president Melanie Edward told the Daily News. “It’s insensitive to family members of people who have gone missing in Gnome over the years.”
A few of the deaths were caused by people suffering from exposure to the cold, or from falling into the freezing waters of the Snake River. Pungowiyi told the paper that he is still under the belief that his uncle disappeared due to some criminal activity. His uncle had arrived in Nome in 1998 to buy a snowmobile. He never returned to his village of Savoonga. He said he believes that some of the deaths, including his uncle, were racially motivated, and believes that one or two people were murdering natives.
Fake News Site
Putting further doubt about the movie’s veracity is the fact that Universal Pictures was sued successfully after they created a fake news site called AlaskaNewsArchive.com. They had a fake story that was reportedly from the real-life Nome Nugget newspaper. The “news story” actually used the name of the Nome Nugget Editor, Nancy Maguire, in the byline. The Alaska Press Club, on behalf of the newspaper and Maguire, sued Universal and settled out-of-court for $20,000.
Alien possession footage from the film
Universal admitted creating the fake online news archive. They said it was part of a “viral marketing campaign.” They even went so far as to create a fake site called AlaskaPsychiatryJournal.com, which listed a bio for Dr. Abigail Tyler and exhibited several scholarly articles she had supposedly written in medical journals on hypnotherapy, hypnotic regression and sleep problems. It was later discovered that Universal Pictures had registered the domain name a month before the movie was released. Both sites are gone now.
Nome residents are also entertained by the obvious difference between the film version of their town and reality. The film was shot in the mountainous areas of Bulgaria, New Zealand, and parts of Alaska. The town of Nome is shown nestled in among mountainous terrain. In reality, Nome is on the edge of a treeless flat expanse up against the Bering Sea in the middle of Alaska’s West Coast.

A Fib On Top of Fabrication
In the final analysis, The Fourth Kind features a therapist, who has a high probability of being fictional, and “archived footage” that is in actuality reenactments with professional actors. In addition, no one seems to be able to find any record of an Abigail Tyler having lived or worked in the Nome area.
Couldn’t they have just checked her Facebook profile?
Many people just brush the movie off as a complete fabrication. However, the producers were not interested in clear-cut facts as much as profitable entertainment. It succeeded on the profit scale, pulling in $25.4 million dollars domestically on a $10 million investment. On the entertainment side, it fell a little short. IMDB.com raters peg it at 5.9 out of 10, and RottenTomatoes.com gave it a 25% rating.
The film’s tagline says, “It’s Up to You to Decide.” Abduction skeptics say that no abduction episode has ever proven true. However, no one knows for sure. As you watch The Fourth Kind while gripping the arm of your chair as tight as you can, you realize you aren’t sure yourself.

The movie was a complete fake. There was a recreated movie on one side and actual footage on the other. Sadly they were fakes it was not even in the right place. It took months to prove that in court.
I have a book about Alan Godfrey who I met at Todmorden in Yorkshire England. A police man who saw a UFO close up and then lost time !! the book is called “who or what were they”.
So on the basis of this, my interest in the subject was huge after seeing 3 UFOs and now 30 years on still interested and searching for more proof I watched the film and can’t understand why “Aliens” have to be so horrid!! lets face it that they can do what they want but lack communication skills .
Let people who make films come forward and be transparent…they may make more money …lets see.
I just watched the movie “The Fourth Kind” on HBO.. it was not the best movie/ Documentary.
But we I know to be true is.. The Bible does say
“There are bodies, Celestial & Terrestrial”
What was interesting to me, the voices that said “ We are God”
I believe in the word of God.. which tells us these are Fallen Angels, trying to build their own army of people.
I do believe it’s Spiritual Warfare.
We all have the right to believe what we choose to believe.

I will say, If the Police Officer saw that, why didn’t they interview him too.
Some things were weird in the movie… Some things weren’t so weird.

An investigation of an investigation of an investigation that has more questions than answers. Nobody behaved normally. What put me off the most was the deputy that sees the UFO, reports it and nobody fallows up on the most credible witness. The only one that saw people being taken. The only one that wasn’t memory wiped.
Most comments here haves, “It’s true,” and a,”I can’t say for what real or not,” disclaimer. That’s because the Studio wants something to fall back on if the comments are linked to them.
If there are UFO’s, this movie went to far and crossed a very thin line to sell this movie and it appears they still are. There just isn’t that many people who are that stupid when all the evidence points to staged, fake, pushy, forceful, it’s true and believe what you will based on factual events the just are not.
If there’s aliens, we’ll know it soon enough because the government will disseminate information over the next ten years showing they created UFO’s and developed their technology theirselves. They can’t not! Like speed of light vehicles and force fields. I’ve seen it with my own eyes, but they haven’t went far enough until we have ships that can travel like UFO’s. There’s a saying that nothing stays hidden and so they will take credit for many things before we ever truly know.

I know for certain there are UFOs and aliens.while driving north in 2010 on I75 just north of Tampa Fl., I saw 14 disks at the 33% of the horizon. It was broad daylight.
My niece was walking in her street which deadened at a quarry, and as she walked around in the quarry she saw two small grey beings up against a large rock. She ran home and never went near it again, I know lots of very credible people ( a church choir master is one) who told me their sightings of saucers over water and over a high school football field.
There are hundreds of resources so go to libraries, old newspapers, online UFO websites and educate yourself because they are hiding in plain site, counting on our human nature to deny what stares us in the face, so they can do as they will with us.
Ps, these are not demons. People who are afraid just claim that. These are alive beings who might be coming from a 5th dimension which would account for the time distortions and people who go out on a beam through a ceiling or window, are going through an opening in this dimension where there is no ceiling or window.
They are out there !!! But the Government to actually admit that would destroy religion as we know it and would throw this world into such turmoil that people would not be able to understand and be able to handle such a thing. So it cant be done even though we all know they are here and have been for a very long time..i I’ve seen them on 3 different occasions in 2 different states Utah and Arizona. 1 in the middle of the street in broad daylight and 1 at 7 in the evening above my deck. And the other flew over our heads while we were outside walking so I know they are here and you cannot convince me otherwise.. Its the beat thing to have seen them with someone so you have proof that’s the best. They are also check in with MUFON. it is a wonderful experience to see what I’ve seen ..the 3 different kinds when I saw what I saw I googled it and the first pic that came up was literally what i had seen and it was also seen by a guy 3 town over and he had video taped it and to see it in slower motion was incredible ..it was the most unusual UFO that i had ever seen . and the most beautiful experience that I’ve ever had. But the daytime cigar shaped UFO at the middle of the intersection that no one else saw was the most odd I had pulled over to take a pic and a s soon as I got it of my car the UFO was at the top of the Mountain how it got thwre in a flash without me swing it I have no idea.it was the length id say of 2 to 3 school buses white with a black strip in the center it was incredible. But even if you don’t believe that’s ok I do and I know what I’ve experienced and what my husband has experienced with me so it doesn’t matter what others think .. Maybe some day they will experience something but until then open your minds and your eyes. Because you just might see something that you don’t believe is out there !! Have a wonderful evening…

Oh, and ps, if you truly believe that we humans are the only intelligent life in our infinite universe, you’re extremely and highly uneducated and ignorant. The milky way is the youngest known solar system by human technology, and so far the only on containing life, but the universe is infinite an unknown. It’s trillions and trillions of years older than our solar system, with trillions and trillions of other solar systems within, and odds are, we aren’t the only planet out there that holds the capability to sustain life. We can’t be, statistics of a planet like ours aren’t that low. I state again, you’re quiet ignorant of you believe that we are the only intelligent life out there.

I’ve seen this many times and believed it to be fact which is why it was so scary for me. Knowing this makes it a little less terrifying, though I still strongly believe in the existence of aliens and beings from other worlds who created us as basically a really big science experiment, and they come back now and again to collect samples (aka abductions). Thank you for the enlightenment about the film, although I must say I’m truly disappointed that it isn’t true.
The Fourth Kind is embarrassing. It’s sold to you as true, it’s beyond dumb. Not saying that all UFO encounters aren’t true, but- —The ‘real’ footage of the lady floating in the room is the professional actress that plays the part- Google it. The ‘real’ footage taken from the police car shows a UFO going over tall trees. Nome Alaska is located on a relatively flat to rolling geography covered in tundra- no trees within hundreds of miles, especially not tall conifers. Willow brush is the tallest flora around. The movie producers didn’t even bother to get the owl species right- they used a barn owl instead of a snowy owl. Barn owls don’t live in Alaska, especially not in tundra ecosystems. Yes, I am a bird expert. I know that doesn’t debunk anything but the producers will to get things to credible, just like they used a mountainous film location as Nome. The paranormal history of Nome involving this case I am not going to speculate as true or not- I don’t know. But the ‘real’ footage is insultingly obvious as fake, and The Fourth Kind is dumb. A kindergartener could figure that out. Google image this: Nome Alaska. There are no trees and no mountains.

I mean the alien part cousl be true but I believe that the mother killed her daughter. If u listened closely, she was the only one to see her little girl before she dissapeared , and he or son walked In when she was gone. Yes there is proof that the UFO above the house but it could of been a cloud floating above.

I’ve just watched the movie, and I started accepting it was based on real events until the “archival footage” of the guy levitating appeared. I study the UFO phenomenon for a couple of decades. I’m convinced UFOs are real and abductions are a fact. But I have never heard of or seen image disturbance on recorded video during a hypnotic regression, let alone the abductee to start to levitate.
Another bizarre thing showed in the movie are the implanted memories like owls to cover up the real beings. In real cases the abductees remember seeing a light in the sky, or something, then nothing. the next thing they remember is when they’re back. There can be hours not accounted for in their memories. And one more thing, aliens don’t drag around people who are fighting to escape from them. Abductees are paralyzed first and then moved around in a light beam. Aliens usually don’t touch people during the abduction process.
Everyone has their own beliefs. Why does it matter to anyone else. We should never stand in judgement of someone elses beliefs. Reading all of these posts shows why most wars are fought due to religion. People should live according to their own beliefs and not care what others believe. Live your life with kindness, compassion and love in your heart, and you will make yourself and others around you happy. Trying to push your beliefs onto someone else is really a waste of time. Most of those people that you are judging could be really good friends if you leave your’s/their spiritual beliefs out of the conversations. It doesn’t matter what they believe unless someone could be hurt!

People who don’t believe in Religion or some grand design simply haven’t experienced any real life/death trauma – like a firefight – heart attack/ loss of a loved one or the rugged beauty of the natural world. They can’y explain the infinite macro-and micro cosms or thevastness of the universe and are arrogant and more foolish than those of us that LOOK at the world around us. 🙂 you got that from contact, the movie. It’s funny but I believe that something doesn’t have to be explained because we either find God or we won’t. One person said without religion our civilization would be more advanced. I become a person I could be proud of through belief. Jewish people have invented more than most because the Bible makes you very, very smart.

I for one enjoyed the movie weather it was true or not I don’t know but remember when the police officer saw the spaceship fly above the house you could see that right before the video got distorted now that was a video that was recorded during the abduction ,it looked real to me we really can not assume that Aliens are not real cause we don’t know if the are or not 11 million people have either seen a UFO or have been abducted . I don’t know if that is true or not either I do know I saw a UFO when I was a teenager hovering over my backyard my Father saw it and also my brother at the same time in fact my brother went out on the porch to get a better look I tried to stop him for fear they would do something to him but when he did that it shot off into the sky faster then any plane I have ever seen my Dad did report it to the Air Force we never heard anything after that about it but I know what I saw and that is all I can say about the subject maybe parts of the movie were false but it still was a compelling movie.

This movie is thought provoking. As bizarre as it sounds I’ve had several encounters of the 1st kind. If we go by believing what we see, for me personally there is no doubt they r out there. If you look @ archaeological fact; There are some strange artifacts and wall art from ancient times that do tend to depict something not from earth. There’s some pretty interesting facts that the film brings up that some of the legends in the bible were based off of stories that were around thousands of years before the bible was written. I feel bad for the people of Nome Alaska because I can see their pov on how this movie seems like sensationalism but I also feel sorry for people who claim to have invasive experiences by these “visitors” against their will. Whatevers happening to those people it doesn’t sound like something I’d ever want to go through nor wish upon anybody else. My personal opinion is that Aliens are real. They can’t all be bad though. I think they’ve been here in the past and we havnt studied archeology properly. I think some of the answers in our own backyard. And it’s sad that so many people r closed off. Either by fear, religion, money, or because they r afraid of how they r being looked @. Why don’t we stop saying “This is is, this is what it is” and stop and really look, really study, really observe and really try to get to the truth. It’s sad and frustrating.
I just want to say that when people claim that Dr. Tyler doesn’t exist, they are correct! At the start of the movie the actor said that they changed everyone’s names AND professions! So, how could you track down a Dr. by a fictitious name? And no one else would be reachable either! It could be a hoax BUT, then again, it could be real! Many people go missing in Alaska and are never found! Not even their bodies. Now, that could be due to a few reasons of which I can think; To Wit: eaten by a bear, or wolf, or maybe taken by a serial killer! There have been serial killers in Anchorage, Alaska, and in Nome, Alaska! And just maybe the extraterrestrials came and took them for their own reasons of which we know not!!!! Anyway, there has to be something going on with all these people claiming abduction!

The movie Fourth Kind is based on Fiction and made up stories just to make money. Since the 1970’s/1980’s, there has been over 25 missing cases in Nome, Alaska, many being family, and NOT ONE has been investigated or SOLVED (only time a missing case was solved was when bodies would wash up at the jetty at the beach, or be found years later washed up as bones and DNA matched), and all these people that went missing, all ALASKAN NATIVES, most being Siberian Yupik and few Inupiaq. The FBI, Nome Police Department, Alaska State Troopers, etc., is involved in SOME of these missing cases (Google: Sonya Ivanoff). Most missing cases are alcohol related homicides within Alaskan Natives. Nome is the main and MAJOR hub for food, supplies, drugs and alcohol for the dozens of surrounding dry villages, dry meaning no alcohol is allowed to be imported or home made in any of these villages. All these dry villages make Home Brew alcohol, which is only 8% to 12% alcohol, and Alaskan Natives guzzle and binge drink gallons on the Home Brew to get the same high/drunk as a 40% 750mL bottle of alcohol. When they go Nome, they also binge drink and guzzle the 40% 750mL’s like the Home Brew, and they get very drunk with a very low tolerance for Real alcohol. There is when all the violence starts, Alaskan Natives are blacked out smashed drunk in many of these missing persons case. At least one known and solved missing persons case was solved, a Nome Police cop turned himself in after Sonya Ivanoff (RIP, God Bless) went missing. Ballistics matched his pistol he used on Police duty after investigating him when he turned himself in. Few of the missing persons cases are thought to also be known with Nome Police involved. One in 2010, a 20-year old Yupik went missing, last seen drunk and staggering on Front Street near the bars, hopping in the back of a Nome Police Car. His body was found almost a year later in the Nome River after the ice started melting in the spring, autopsy showed broken and beaten body and face, most likely from a Police baton, and shot to the head, matching Nome Police ballistics, but NO evidence found, most likely was killed few miles out of town by the Nome River in the middle of no where Tundra. The Nome River has strong current going out to the unforgiving Bering Sea. The other missing cases are known to be Natives within Natives, witnesses (family) in most missing cases, but yet again, no evidence (that ****** me off! a witness ain’t enough evidence? family witness?). All 25+ missing cases have alcohol and violence involved, except a few that were different missing persons case, from the Winter blizzards and storms, the rest are alcohol and violence. I know the murderer’s of some these missing persons case, these missing people were my family.

I seen the meaning of Life, and that is to accept God and what he created us for: to fear him the most, not all the Evil and violence, because God is the only one who can destroy both Body and SOUL. So all you people who sell your Souls to the Devil to create movies like The Fourth Kind, and anyone else who sells their souls for anything, be prepared to be Destroyed in the 2nd coming of the Christ. The 2nd coming, all the Dead souls will rise from Rest, and all humanity will be served when God comes with his Book of Life, to see who will go to Heaven and ****. Everyone who died and passed away, is not in Heaven or **** right now, all the Dead are Resting right now, until God’s 2nd coming, that’s why its called “Rest in Peace”. When the 2nd coming of the Lord, that is when **** will be opened for Satan and his people, that is when God will throw Satan and his people into the Lake of fire, destroy **** and Earth, and make the new Earth (Heaven). God is not a man of Peace, but a man of Just. That is why he created Sin and Evil, to see who will follow Evil or God. He does not force you to believe in him, he gave everyone free will to believe what they want to believe in. Those who don’t believe in him, are the ones that will be thrown to ****, simple as his Words in the Bible. Read the Bible. I watched the first 20 minutes of the film (The Fourth Kind) and just turned it off. I couldn’t believe that first: The town chosen to be Nome was so far from the truth. Why not juust film in Nome instead of all over the world? Second: The actors seemed bland. As if they were “trying” to be ral people and fell far short. Third: The side by side parts of the film made it hard to understand what was going on and what was being said. So I had to focus instead on what they were doing. (was this the purpose?)
When I watch a movie about a certain place and about a certain group of people I would like to see the place,, and the people who live there. As a “real event” it was totally unbelievable because of these things.
I supose people unfamiliar with Alaska, and its many different tyes of living and environments it would seem real enoough. As it is, even in 2015 a lot of people are still under the impression that Alaska is wild, filled with Natives that live uncivilized lives.

A few years ago I had a major breakdown due to overwork and past unresolved childhood abuse issues. During the breakdown I ”saw” scary images, could sense things before they happened and had profound pshychic abilities.

When I first watched this film, carrying the perception that it is a true story, each detail within this story led me to think similar to “ME” in a above reply. Yes, within my Christianese, I found to see spiritual workings involved….And the characteristics add up to a very unfriendly spirit opposing what Jesus Christ stands for..Love! I woke up to something jiggling my bed room dr knob back in 2001. I was sleep and dreaming but I could hear the dr knob moving. While still sleeping and dreaming I like woke up but still sleeping and I could see two hugh owl like figures. Their legs looked as those of aliens and their heads were those of an owl. Trying to wake up it was hard for me to breath. I finally jumped up gasping for air. I called 911…ambulance and fire dept. came and I was sent to ER. Was told it was indigestion. I didnt remember my “dream” until seeing this movie in.early 2010. I do believe what happened to those people really happened. I just thank God what happened to them didnt happen to me. I also do believe there is another “kind” besides humans. We are not alone. We cant be. Too many sightings and suspicions.

Compare the attributes of God, exampled by the life of Christ, with the attributes of Satan. Then research alien encounters and notice which attributes these people have experienced. Simple matter of deductive reasoning will help anyone decide what to believe about aliens. “Advanced intelligent beings” should not need to instill fear, be illusive, mutilate animals and experiment on human genitalia over and over and over and over to understand humans. You spout off fairy tales then talk about having common sense. The two cannot co-exist. You cannot believe fairy tales are true, then tell other folks to apply common sense to their thinking.
As science advances we know more and more about how the brain works and how we interpret the experiences we have. Of course, there are much more we don’t know that we actually know, but before to believe the experiences are somehow demonic, at least try to put a rational thinking into it. For instance, the experience that Andrew explained that happened to him when he was 7 years old it seems a problem of sleep paralysis. Our brain is not a perfect machine, it has some failures from time to time, and when it happens (sometimes a neurotransmitter disbalance that it’s quickly resolved without any other consequences, sometimes something more serious) we experience ‘strange’ phenomenoms (such as the universal ‘deja vu’) and we try to explain them using the information that is around us, in our culture, e.g. in the mid ages witches, nowdays aliens, etc… I think that we all whenever we experience something ‘strange’ we should go first to a doctor/psychologist/psychiatrist and have a check up before starting thinking about possesions, or something alike. As I said, science is advancing, and it may be more dimensions than we know, it may be some other forms of live somewhere in the universe (or universes or ‘multiuniverses’) and it is all worthy to study and understand but try always to keep on the facts before ‘interpreting’ them.
I do believe we are not alone in the universe and am very opened minded. I believe people are and have been abducted by aliens for a long time, but I don’t believe all of them. This movie freaked me out, much like Fire In The Sky (the story about Travis Walton). I loved it. Whether or not the entire story is true, or is loosely based on a true encounter, doesn’t diminish the possibility of it. There are many people out there who have been abducted and under hypnosis have remembered some things, but there are so many similarities that even 5% being true is a scary thought.
As for the Sumerian influence, they were a very wise people who believed we came from the stars, as I do. This civilization flourished over 6,000 years ago and is by all accounts the founder of language. I loved that they were included in the movie, as most people know nothing about them.

While I don’t fully agree with everything that’s been said in the past comments I want you and others to hear my testimony and decide for yourself. I’ve been a Christian my whole life. I don’t believe in a religion but I do believe in a relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Let me tell you if it wasn’t for them I would not be alive today. When I was seven I experienced something that I believe I can explain. I was in bed waiting for my cat to come and sleep at my feet, as was her routine. I was lying on my back waiting when I felt a small amount of weight move onto my feet and then it slowly moved up my body and onto my chest. As it was crawling up I was watching to see my cat but when the weight got to my chest I couldn’t see anything. I thought to heavier but and myself “that’s odd”, and then the weight grew heavier I never saw what caused it. Then I tried to call out for my parents but I had no voice, my vocal cords would not move. I was petrified. Thank god that I had been taught from an early age about demons and about people rebuking them in the name of Jesus, because the thought popped into my head “this is a demon” and I mustered all the willpower I could and forced my voice to utter these words, “I rebuke you in the name of JESUS CHRIST”. With the brightest flash of light the weight lifted and was gone. So quite literally Christ saved me. Now after hearing reports of abductions all my life I’ve come to the conclusion that people mistake these abductions for what could be demonic possession. Believe me or don’t, for your sake and others around the world I pray you do believe or at the very least keep those words and the possibility of belief in Christ close to your heart. I would hate for something like this to happen to someone who was unarmed in spiritual warfare.

Andrew, I see what you’re saying, I am sensitive to vibes, from people and other presences, and just putting this out there, I am a born again Christian. I have had some interesting experiences from living at my grandparents homes of both my parents. I believe that God gave me the perception to pick up on spiritual presences, I guess this is what the gift discernment is. I felt a negative presence at my maternal grandmother’s home, and I also had an experience whenever they took my dad’s mom to the hospital after I took care of her while she was incapacitated from a bad fall. In her room, I actually smelled fresh lilies with no nearby source, and I was the only one who could smell them since I asked my dad, his mom’s nurse, and my brother if they smelled fresh lilies at the time. They just looked at me like, um no… in a surprised sort of way. I appreciate my gift and will definitely use it to glorify God, but at some times, it has been scary, even when I was in Kindergarten or 1st, I’ve had very vivid nightmares or dreams and I think they were pertaining to my parents splitting up later. So, God is definitely looking out for all of us in different ways.
I can’t believe how small minded some folks are…believing that Jesus will save you and that there is nothing beyond what we see here on earth is silly, bordering scary. There is no proof that we know of regarding aliens and there is no proof that Jesus will save you (or even agreement about what that means). We believe it is a miracle when the Virgin Mary is observed in some distant culture but we don’t believe folks when they say they have seen an object in the sky that doesn’t make sense to what they know. This is illogical reasoning. The bottom line is that none of us/you know. Some people have certain experiences they cannot understand, whether they see Mary or an alien, it doesn’t matter. All of our knowledge is incomplete. Once that can be accepted, then you can still hold your beliefs, understanding that a belief is different than knowledge. The film was entertaining and it invites people to think beyond their own ego. Some of the marketing practices might be questionable but in the end, we all watched it and it provoked discussion. True but I personally have not been a huge person involved in church participation or praying but I can tell you that my family was. It was even published in a newspaper that when the full moon was bright, the light shown in on my uncles garage, through the door window and the window of a car, the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus, on the shadow line. I’ve watched this movie many times and your comment is the one that makes most sense.. My oldest son pasted away a year ago on February 10, 2015. He was only 31 when he died. He left behind a wife, two beautiful children, two brothers and two sisters. We miss him more than words can express. I don’t know if having disorders such as Schizophrenia is linked to demon possession, but I do know in the name of Jesus Christ these disorders can be cured or helped tremendously.

Well.. where to start, Why cant both be real? What if, both of these aliens and demons/angels are the same. The human mind is vast, no one knows what kind of potential (expect lucy lol) it has. We come up with these “Simplified ideas” to understand what we see, even still, can’t explain them my point is I agree with both. I believe in Demons/Angels & Aliens, Do not discount your beliefs

I couldn’t watch the whole movie for that very reason, demonic. Right on! Aliens are not a species from other planets, they are the fallen angels from Genesis 6. They messed with humanity then just as they still are today! Thank you and God Bless you for speaking the truth.
In my own point of view as i watched the movie a year ago. It is an eye opener for the people who are wide thinker let us accept that we not alone in this universe so. It frightens me a lot because of the actual footage. I they don’t believe dr. abby tyler why is it that they can’t find her daughter? Just as simple as that to prove her wrong……so how could they critized her? Try to think people I’m not convincing anybody, all I want to know is the truth behind her story…….(“;)
You do realize that there was no real “archived footage” in the movie? As the story above indicates this was fake footage by actors. As CNN pointed out, the movie is pure science fiction.

All caps? You don’t need to prove a fiction. The burden of proof is on the footage, which is not met and even admitted to being fake. It’s not the job of the skeptic to prove something is fake, it’s the other to prove that it’s real. Myths like god, ghosts, and ‘real’ aliens fall into this spectrum.
Where did they admit to it? I haven’t seen anything where the people on the “actual footage” were documented to say the “actual footage” was false. Did Milla Jovovich say something? Interested in some more facts.

I agree that this footage may not be ‘real’ but there are many many very probable cases of alien encounters across the globe. It would not be outside of the realm of film to combine these stories and provide an illustration on screen that shows the terrifying reality of Alien life and the loneliness one would feel in attempting to surface a buried truth. I also have not seen this director having made any other films, if you are aware of some please let me know. But this movie felt eerily close to a truth. A chill down my spine that no zombie or stephen king movie ever gave
I watched this movie about a year ago, and I still think about it. It is one movie that scares the H outta me, thinking about all this alien abduction ****, etc. I do believe in it, and I believe all the “archived footage” as well. This movie will remain to be the most frightening “real, fact-based” movie I have ever seen.

Just watched the movie myself and must admit for a lot of the movie as I watched I thought it may have been real and based on facts. But some of the later ”archive footage” seemed too acted instead of real. So I enjoyed it for what it was, a sci-fi with a twist to the usual alien invasions to conquer/destroy the earth. But I still went on line too check and found this web site and the full info’ on the film and a photo of the actress the played the ”archive footage” Dr. I know it has took me 3 years after it was made to see it. but you can’t watch everything at once. Plus I like Milla as well. But having said all that I do believe the ”Truth is out there”.
